Stripes obsession

Gap has recently been having an AMAZING sale, and if it's still going on then you should jump on it ASAP! I went in five a couple times and felt like I had hit the jackpot! They were having extra 40% off sale items, and online right now they are having 40% off you're entire purchase! Again... let me just say: JUMP ON THIS SALE NOW! As I continued to shop the sale and buy items I came to the conclusion (and so did my husband) that I am a stripes fanatic! I love stripes and particularly I love navy and white striped items! I purchased some of the items below and the rest are on my wish list! The striped button up is seriously the cutest and I plan on pairing with either the navy pants or I also bought a white pair as well. The fit is "boyfriend" fit so it's slimmer and the material is nice and light for hot summers! I also bought the white dress below and LOVE it! It's loose fitting which I love but also super adorable. I also bought a blue and denim dress similar to the white but the fit is a little slimmer. The metallic flats and summer scarfs are also a must to jazz up any outfit! I will say it again.. if the sale is stillhappening  which I'm sure it is you should do yourself a favor and shop. ;) Let me know what items you get and what amazing deals you got!

Sevenly

Have you heard about Sevenly?  I found out about this organization a few years ago and loved their mission.  They work with charities and organizations to raise money for a variety of different causes.  Each week they team up with a new charity to “bring funding and awareness to the world’s greatest causes.”

Sevenly has amazing artists that create stylish shirts and other merchandise for each week’s charities.  $7 of each item sold goes directly to support the charity.  I love organizations like this because it allows people to contribute from afar.

Last week Sevenly teamed up with The Mocha Club to support education in Kenya.  As a current student, and teacher-to-be, I value the opportunity of education and hope that EVERYONE has the opportunity to learn, grow and follow their dreams…I couldn't wait to purchase a shirt and support this charity!

Check out my new shirt I’ll be getting in the mail soon…my purchase is going to help an orphan get into a classroom!!
"Education is Freedom"
This week Sevenly is working with the charity Dream Catcher to help "keep families together by providing essential items to those living in poverty."  If this is something you feel passionate about or would like to contribute to, visit their website.
My favorite out of the 4 patterns this week!

Remember, each week is something new, so keep checking in on them or sign up for their email updates!

Anniversary Month

Hey all!! It's July which means for me it is a very special month. July is our Anniversary Month. Wedding anniversary and dating anniversary! Yes, we are that cheesy couple that keeps track of both! I'll give you a little background and hope I don't bore you with all my details. 10 years ago on July 25th (yes, I said 10 YEARS!) we went on our very first date. I remember the day like it was yesterday because I was SOOO excited and yet not nervous at all. The minute we got in the car to go on our date it was as if we were best friends instantly. We had so much to talk about, and the day flew by! Flash forward 5 years and on that same day, July 25th he proposed in the exact same spot. I remember the day was extremely hot, we were outside walking around a lake and he was persistent about looking at the ducks. You would think I would have known something was up, but my clueless self had no flippin idea! I kept asking if we could leave and get water because I was so hot, but he continued to wander around the lake wanting to relax, sit down on the bench, look at the ducks and then... it happened. I cried, he teared up and the moment had finally happened, we were engaged to be married! Then, on July 31, 2010 we said I DO. I remember being so relaxed and care-free on our wedding day, it was the most perfect day and I only cared about one thing: becoming husband and wife. Now, fast forward almost 4 years and I cannot believe we are approaching our 4 year anniversary!! People always say time flies, but truly the time has flown by. We have had many adventures, travels, vacations, date nights, movie nights, lazy days, house projects...etc. and it has all been wonderful. Not perfect, but wonderful. I truly am blessed to say I married my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else. The Lord truly blessed me with an amazing man! So... happy anniversary month to my one and only.

Now onto the hard part... Shopping for a guy is hard!!! I have to say guys have it super easy when having to shop for us ladies! I did however find the cutest website that creates personalized date coupon books!! I thought this was perfect idea and you should check it out! Right now they're even offering 30% off book purchases! www.datevitation.com

Teacher To-Be

“Ms. Fanelli” here…Back in 2011 I decided to head back into the classroom to get my teaching license.  The process has taken a bit longer than planned because a semester in, I decided, why just get my license when I can get my Masters degree?!  So the adventure began!  Skip forward to the present, and in a few short weeks I will begin my final semester as a grad student.  This will be the most beneficial semester yet, as I will be doing my student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom.  I’ve decided to document those 16 weeks on our blog, because I imagine it will be filled with stress, excitement, creativity, exhaustion, and most importantly the comedy only to be found when amongst a bunch of second graders J

Anyone in the teaching world knows how much we love to beg, borrow, and steal teaching techniques and creative ideas from one another.  I hope my ideas will benefit other teachers out there, and I hope that the ideas I steal from other amazing teachers can be passed along via our blog!

Keep an eye out for more about my teaching journey, to be continued the second week in August…AAHH! I think I just had a heart attack!
Me, being all teachery!

Workin it out!

Hey y'all! This is Jessica and I am so excited to write my first "official" post on our blog! As my first post there was a lot of pressure for the topic but I decided to go with what I'm currently focused on... Bikini body!!! I mean let's be honest the minute summer rolls around we are all frightened and/or terrified to try on that bathing suit! Not only that but I am in a wedding this summer and gotta fit into that dress! So... I do what any rational/normal girl would do- push it into gear a couple weeks before the event ;)

I can honestly say though this has become my favorite go-to workout! If you haven't heard it's called Tabata and it's a quick 8-cycle rotation 20 seconds on 10 seconds off. You can do any exercise you want and it goes so fast! I like to go to the track with my husband and we will do a couple rounds of sprints and then maybe an abs workout! I am not one to dwell on a long workout so this is absolutely perfect! You can download theTabata  timer in the apps store for free! Give it a try and I know you wil like it!

Continue to visit and soon we will have lots of fun "life" and "style" topics! Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Eat some extra s'mores, rice krispie treats and burgers for us! :) (Well.. that's what we'll be eating)
